To this day I think of Jeff every time I get into my car. If it wasnt for him and his 1960 something Opel, I'd never know how to drive a standard transmission. Every so often during senior year Jeff, Mark Frankel and I would cut school (shhhh...don't tell anyone!) and drive out to South Park in Jeff's Opel. It was a 3 speed on the column. Having never driven a standard, Jeff in his sharing ways would say ...."it's time to learn." And did I ever. With me behind the wheel, we bounced, jerked and bucked all over South Park. I can never forget the voluminous laughter we shared during the process. I mean pee-in-the-pants kind of laughter. He was that kind of a giving guy. I have been driving a stick shift ever since.
Jeff stood out as being a truly "nice" person--a title not everyone in high school gets or deserves. He was so balanced--never seemed stressed, never too hurried for a chat, and genuinely careing. I hope his life after high school was happy. He surely deserved it.

Although I had essentially no contact with Jeff after HS, I will always remember him as one of the gentlest souls I have ever known
