Esther, who had the same name as my mother, and I were good friends in high school and after when she was at Shadyside Nursing School.  We called each other "cousin", even though we could not trace a family relationship.  After my military service in 1971, I enjoyed visiting and staying with her in Metairie, and experiencing Mardi Gras with her.  Esther was always sweet, gentle and upbeat.  May her memory be a blessing.  --Steve Stone

I am very sad to hear of Esther's passing.  We were playmates in early grade school and remained good friends through high school though we had rarely been in touch af post Allderdice.  She was kind, sweet, fun loving.  Rest in peace Esther.

So very sorry to hear of Esther's passing.  As youngsters, we attended Sunday School together at the Hebrew Institute.  Even though we weren't close in high school, we reconnected through Facebook and shared our lives and beautiful families with one another.  My condolences to her family.  May her memory be a blessing.

I am visiting my brother in New Orleans, Esther's adopted home town. She reached out to me on a previous visit. I remember her fondly. Condolences to her family and friends.

I am saddened to learn about Esther's passing. Like Linda Choder Walker, I attended Hebrew Institute Sunday School with Esther. Esther was a sweet and kind person. My deepest condolences to her family. May her memory always be for a blessing.

Sad to learn that we have lost another classmate. While Esther and I did not meet in high school, her professional choices would have made us colleagues, had we both stayed in Pittsburgh. Nurse anesthetists provided expert and compassionate care for the gammit of surgical procedures throughout many jurisdictions in North America.

Clearly, Esther's committment to continuing education, promoting the recognition of the skills of her profession, speaks to her didication. I have been long convinced that many women of our generation would have excelled in any field of medicine, but may have encountered barriers and hurdles removed or lowered for women in the Class of 2024.

To a life and career well lived and well practiced. May her memory be a blessing to her family and friends.
