Noah Totten

Noah Timmins Totten (No), 72, died January 8, 2020 at his home in Falmouth. He was the beloved husband of Janet Bestic Totten for 24 years. He was born in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Francis Xavier Totten and Lelia (Timmins) Totten. Noah served in the Army for two years from 1966 to 1968, where he served in the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. He graduated from Northeastern University and received his MBA from Babson. Noah began his professional career at Ford Motor Company as a regional distribution manager. He then began working in the concrete industry in Boston, eventually taking on the role of General Manager at Lawrence Ready-Mix Concrete, headquartered in Falmouth. He spent the last 15 years of his work life as General Manager of Johns Liquor Store, combining his management skills with a deep interest in learning about wine and spirits. Noah was a passionate supporter of many causes throughout Falmouth. He served on the Falmouth Fireworks and Falmouth Heart Fund Committees through the 1990s. He joined the Friends of Fairwinds Advisory Board in 2003 where he served until 2017, the last ten years as President. During that time, the organization was able to purchase a building to house the Fairwinds Clubhouse and to build four affordable apartments for Clubhouse members. Noah also supported and volunteered at Highfield Hall, Falmouth Museums on the Green and the Cape Cod Theatre Project. He was known and loved for his loyal friendship, ready smile and sense of humor. In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by six brothers and sisters: Lelia Buerger of Houston, Mary Stewart of Marblehead, C. Lawrence Totten of Hawaii, Sally Monteverde of Pittsburgh, Robert Francis (Cynthia) Totten of Kittaning, PA and Joan Rickling (Brian) of San Diego. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Cathleen Blumberg of Marietta, GA and brother-in-law Joseph Bestic of Cherry Hill, NJ. He was loving uncle to 16 nieces and nephews and ten great-nieces and -nephews. A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, January 18th from 2-5 pm at Chapman, Cole & Gleason, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. There will also be a Celebration of Noahs life on Sunday, January 19 from noon until 3 at the Flying Bridge Restaurant, Scranton Ave, Falmouth. Family and friends are invited to share their photographs, memories and tales of their times with Noah.
